Paloma Anderson, Athlete of the Year

From Phoenix, Arizona Paloma Anderson was named the Jean Marsh Female Athlete of the Year. The leading scorer in the AUS and U SPORTS this season, Paloma was last year's Most Valuable Player in women's basketball along with the AUS BLG Female Nominee. While her on court performances ranged from outstanding to amazing, she is also a fan favourite for her up-beat demeanour.

She was named as an AUS First Team All-star this season and named as a U SPORT First Team All-Canadian for the second year in a row.

"We are proud of Paloma's achievement, and she is very deserving of the recognition. She became a two-time First Team All-Canadian this year, which is an impressive feat in itself", commented Axewomen head coach Len Harvey. "Paloma has grown as a player again this year, becoming even a more diverse offensive threat, and a more consistent defensive presence. She has grown in a myriad of ways as a teammate, and embodies the community spirit and engagement I feel our student-athletes strive toward. Our team is excited for her being recognized with this award."
