The Axewomen basketball team swept a two-game weekend in Newfoundland against Memorial. Fourth-year guard Paloma Anderson averaged 25.5 points per game against the Sea-Hawks with a high 29 points in the Axewomen’s second win of the weekend. The Phoenix, Arizona native also added a weekend average 10.5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals during her record-setting weekend. Anderson became the new Acadia all-time leader in points, shattering former Axewoman Emma Duinker’s record of 1328 set in 2011 after a five-year university career. With 1332 points and six regular season games remaining, Anderson sits 16th overall in the AUS career points and second in the current AUS scoring race with 18.9 points per game average and leads the conference in assists with 71.
