The Axewomen basketball team moved one step closer in breaking the best season record posted by an Acadia team following two wins against Dalhousie this past week and improving to a 17-2 record. Port Williams, N.S. native Haley McDonald averaged 29.5 points per game in Acadia’s two wins. In the first of two games against Dalhousie, McDonald had 32 points and broke the Acadia record of three-point baskets made in a single season once held by former Axewoman Emma Duinker of 51. With one game remaining, McDonald is six three-point shots made from breaking the AUS record of 60 in a single season held by former Cape Breton Caper Kelsey Hodgson. McDonald leads the conference in three-point shots made with 55 and fourth in AUS scoring with 17.6 points per game average. She is also second to teammate Paloma Anderson in assists.
