The Axemen basketball team completed a weekend sweep of the Memorial Sea-Hawks, improving to 12-2 and second place in the AUS conference. Leading the charge this past weekend was Quispamsis, N.B. native Erik Nissen. Nissen, who leads the AUS in rebounding with 10.9 rebounds per game, pulled down 30 rebounds in two games including 19 in the Axemen’s second win of the weekend. Nissen averaged 19 points in two games and is sixth in the AUS scoring race with 18.4 points per game average. Nissen, who was named the Subway Player of the Game in Sunday’s matchup versus the Sea-Hawks, also leads the AUS in blocks.
