The Axewomen rugby team finished the weekend with two close losses at the U SPORTS National Women’s Rugby Championship and senior Axewomen rugby player Alysha Corrigan finished her playing career on a high note. The fifth-year back from Charlottetown, P.E.I., scored a try at the 47th minute vs the No. 1 seeded Ottawa Gee-Gees to bring the Axewomen within 7 points in quarterfinal play. Corrigan also scored the Axewomen’s only try in a 10-7 loss to Victoria in consolation play. Corrigan had two tries and three conversions in two games this past weekend in National Championship play.
