The Axemen football team handed the undefeated SMU Huskies their first loss of the season in a 31-2 win. Leading the Axemen was senior running back Dale Wright. Wright, from Markham, ON, posted 182 yards on 23 carries for two touchdowns. Along with rushing, Wright had two catches for 39 yards and was named the Subway Player of the Game. The 2017 AUS MVP finished the regular season with 839 yards in eight games – second in AUS rushing.
