The Axewomen volleyball team won two out of three exhibition matches this past weekend in Ottawa and first-year setter A native of Ottawa, Ont., Sydney Zakutney stood out in all of the Axewomen’s matches and led the team through all three matches including a five-set win against Queen’s along with a 3-1 win against her home team the Ottawa Gee Gees. Sydney’s speed and athleticism stood out to many spectators as she commanded the Axewomen offense and was a defensive threat both in the front row and back row. Zakutney currently leads the AUS in assists per set 9.24 and total assists of 314.
