Wesley-Ann Bailey has been named the U SPORTS women’s volleyball player of the week for the period ending November 19.

Bailey, a fourth-year political science and psychology major, led the Axewomen to a pair of 3-2 victories in Fredericton against the UNB Reds over the weekend. This moved Acadia into first place in the AUS. She finished the weekend with nine blocks, 13 block assists, 22 kills and three service aces. In Saturday’s victory she also had four digs. Overall she had 40.5 points over two matches.

Prior to national recognition she was received the athlete of the week honours from the AUS and Acadia. 

The U SPORTS men's volleyball player of the week is Isaac Heslinga from the University of Alberta.
