Glen Cox has been named the U SPORTS men’s basketball player of the week for the period ending November 12.

Cox, a third-year business administration student, led the Axemen to a weekend sweep of the Cape Breton Capers. In Friday’s 106-102 victory he scored 30 points, shooting 57.1 per cent from the floor, including 14-for-16 from the free throw line. He followed that performance with 36 points in the 98-74 win on Saturday night. Again he shot over 50 per cent from the field and was 83.3 per cent from the free throw line. Over the two games he also had 13 rebounds. Through six games he leads the AUS in scoring, averaging 26.7 points per game.

He is second in the country in scoring, trailing only Diego Maffia of the Victoria Vikes who is averaging 32.3 points per game through four games.
