Reid and Naujoks named Acadia athletes of the week

WOLFVILLE – Samantha Reid (rugby) and Riley Naujoks (football) have been named Acadia athletes of the week for the period ending September 29.

Reid, a first-year biology student, scored twice in Saturday’s 36-10 victory over Saint Mary’s for the women’s rugby program. In the second half of the game Reid scored back-to-back trys for Acadia. For her play in the match, she was named the Axewomen player of the game.

Naujoks, a third-year English student, was a key to the Axemen picking up their 31-17 win at home over Mount Allison on Saturday. The 6’3 quarterback threw for a season-high 288 yards (21 of 27) for two touchdowns. His longest pass of the day was 36 yards to Chad Alexander. His completion percentage of 77.8 was also a season-high performance.
