Linebacker Stephen Samuel is the most recent commitment to the Acadia football 2024 recruitment class.

Hailing from Calgary, Alta., he is 6’1 and 190 lbs.

“Stephen comes to us from Henry Wise Wood High School in Calgary and brings with him a toughness and attitude we are looking for on defence and special teams,” said head coach Jeff Cummins. “As a multi-sport athlete, playing basketball, rugby and running track, we look for Stephen to make an impact in many different ways on our team here at Acadia. We are very happy to have Stephen travel to Acadia and be a part of the Axeman family.”

Playing with the Henry Wise Wood High School Warriors in his hometown, he was the 2023 special teams player of the year.

Standout stats for Samuel include 44 tackles over seven games this year, which led the Warriors, including one game where he had 13. He also had a season-high four sacks in a single game.

Samuel will be working towards an arts degree while attending Acadia.
