Reimer clinches Sea-Hawks sweep of Axemen

WOLFVILLE – Josh Reimer (St. John's, NL) hit the game-winning three pointer, leaving just .1 of a second on the clock as the Memorial Sea-Hawks topped the Acadia Axemen 89-86 to sweep the weekend in Wolfville.

Reimer finished with 12 points off the bench for Memorial, while pulling in six rebounds.

Leading the Sea-Hawks offence was Nicholas Tuff (St. John's, NL) with 23 points. Flynn Boardman-Raffet (London, UK) had back-to-back big games for Memorial, finishing Saturday night with 17 points and eight rebounds.

Jason Thompson (St. John's, NL) and Jodick Moudiandambu (Hamilton, ON) were the only other scorers in double digits for the Sea-Hawks with 18 and 11 respectively.

The conference's leading scorer Glen Cox (Scotsburn, NS) had a game-high 23, with seven boards. Three Axemen finished with two blocks, including Thomas MacDonald (Rothesay, NB) who also finished with 15 points and nine rebounds.

Off the bench, Ryan Munro (Timberlea, NS) was the biggest contributor for Acadia, dropping 14.

Next weekend Memorial hosts the Cape Breton Capers for a pair of games, while Acadia travel to Prince Edward Island for a single game against the UPEI Panthers.

All games tip-off at 8 p.m. local time.
