Axemen welcome MJHL leading scorer Dalton Andrew

WOLFVILLE – The Acadia Axemen are excited to announce Dalton Andrew’s commitment to the men’s hockey program for the 2024-25 season.

Andrew joins the Axemen from the Winkler Flyers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL). The 6’5 forward will bring his league-leading offence to Wolfville in the fall, having won the MJHL’s Mike Ridley Trophy as the league’s top scorer for 2023-24.

In 54 games this season, Andrew led the MJHL in goals (43), finished fifth in assists (39) and led all players in points (82). On top of receiving the Mike Ridley Trophy, he was also named an MJHL first team all-star.

“We are very excited to add Dalton to our line up next year,” said head coach Darren Burns. “His speed, shot and tenacity will be a huge asset to our team.”

The Brandon, Man. native spent three seasons (2021-2024) in the MJHL, all with the Winkler Flyers organization where he played 141 regular season games, finishing with 70 goals and 58 assists.

“I'm super excited to become an Axeman and join such a first-class organization.”

Prior to his time with Winkler, he played two seasons in the Manitoba AAA U18 Hockey League with Brandon Wheat Kings U18 AAA. He averaged 1.08 points-per-game, finishing with 26 goals and 29 assists for 55 points in 51 games.

The Axemen will continue to announce their 2024-25 recruitment class over the coming weeks, with the AUS schedule expected to be announced in late spring.
