Axemen finish 2nd, AxewomeN 3rd at Ambey Legere

FREDERICTON, N.B. - The Acadia Swim team finished second in men's swimming and third place in women's category at the AUS opening swim meet of the 2015-16 season - the Ambey Legere Invitional hosted by UNB.

Third year swimmer Patrick Henger, who was named the Acadia McDonalds Athlete of the Week, posted two first place wins in the 50m and 100m Butterfly. In the 100m Butterfly, Henger tied  in the first place finish with teammate Adam Deutsch with a time of 1:00.71. Henger also captured a second place finish in the 400m medley relay along with teammates Hayden Adams, Adam Deutsch and Brendan Vibert.

On the women's side, second year backstroke specialist Rebecca MacPherson finished third in the 200m backstroke, third in the 50m backstroke and third in the 100m backstroke. Teammate Emily Halajian grabbed a second place finish in the 200m Butterfly.

The Axemen and Axewomen will now host the annual Jack Scholz Memorial Swim meet this coming Saturday, Oct. 31 and Sunday, Nov. 1. Sessions times include Saturday evening 5:30 p.m. - 8:15 p.m. and Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
