Acadia captures 21 medals at AUS Swim Championshp

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - The Acadia swim team finished the final night of AUS championships in style with two gutsy swims in there 4x100m Medley Relay. Both teams garnered silver medals. 

It was a total team effort. Over the course of the weekend the team collected over 21 medals including 3 AUS champions including Brett Liem 50m freestyle, Adam Deutsch 200m breaststroke and Alison MacEachern 200m buttlerfly.

"Although there were many great individual performances it was the total team effort by everyone that stood out," pointed out head coach Gary MacDonald. 

The men's team ended in a solid 2nd place and the girls narrowly came 3rd in the overall points race. Combined, the Acadia swim team easily placed second overall.

Looking ahead, the team has 3 swimmers who will continue on to the CIS champs in two weeks hosted by the Universite de Sherbrooke. Top sprinter Brett Liem, butterflyer Alison MacEachern and breaststroker Hannah Doiron all have qualified to attend this prestigious meet.

This past weekend's top medal winners included Adam Deutsch's gold, silver and bronze. Brett Liem's gold, silver and two bronze medals. Alison MacEachern's gold, silver and bronze. Other medal winners listed below.
