Acadia's Deutsch and Henger post event wins

WOLFVILLE, N.S. – At the annual Jack Scholz Memorial Swim Meet, the Dalhousie Tigers grabbed gold medal wins in 16 of 18 events in Day One.

Three swimmers captured wins in more than one event including Tiger Gavin Dyke who posted wins in 100m and 400m freestyle and teammates Isabel Sarty who finished first in the 100m & 400m freestyle and Lise Cinq-Mars who won the 50m & 200m butterfly.

The Tigers finished first in both the women's and men's team standings, with host Acadia trailing in second in both team standings.

The two events not won by Dalhousie included Acadia veteran swimmers Patrick Henger who won the 50m butterfly and Adam Deutsch who finished on top in the 200m breaststroke.

In the two relay races in Day one's schedule of events, Dalhousie won both male and female 200m medley relays.

Stand-out newcomers included Dalhousie's Madeline Shivgulam who won the 100m backstroke and Isabel Sarty with the two gold medal wins. Sixteen year old Victoria MacDonald posted a gold medal win in the 50m breaststroke for the Tigers.

Day Two of the Jack Scholz Memorial Swim Meet will begin Sunday, October 29 at 9:00 a.m.
