Collins breaks AUS record on second day of championship, Acadia sits second in team standings.

Acadia's Ella Collins set and broke an AUS record on day two of the AUS championships, but the Dalhousie Tigers continue to lead in the team standings.

Kicking off the evening session Elodie Martin (UNB) won the women's 50m freestyle followed by Sara Bennett and Grace Earle of Acadia. On the men's side, Chris Weeks of Memorial won his second event of the weekend, narrowly missing out on lowering his AUS record. Acadia's Lucas Mazier touched in second and Noah Mascoll-Gomes touched in third.

Up next was Ella Collins and the 200m breaststroke. After setting a new AUS record in the preliminary races this morning, she lowered it further in the evening finals with a time 2:28.59. Jordan Thomas (MTA) and Emilie Schofield (DAL) touched in second and third.

Blake Kingston (UNB) won the men's 200m breaststroke with a time of 2:16.21 followed by Connor Maloney and Jake Gysel of Dalhousie.

Reagan Crowell won her second individual race of the weekend in the 400m freestyle with a time of 4:21.41. Natalie Smart of Memorial was second followed by Abbey Nichols of DAL. On the men's side Mascoll-Gomes touched in first place followed by fellow Tiger Logan Sparkes and Axeman David Harvie.

In the women's 100m backstroke, Sophie Rooney touched the wall in a time of 1:01.56 for first place followed by Grace Earle of Acadia and Allison Gauthier of Mount Allison. Mount Allison's Sebastian Cariaga won the men's 100m backstroke. Dalhousie's Liam Ferguson finished second with UNB's Maxime Kenny in third.

Emilie Schofield won the women's 200m IM race with a time of 2:18.94. Fellow Tiger Kate Tuck captured the silver medal and Mount Allison's Jordan Thomas the bronze. Gordon Shortt of Acadia touched the wall in first place in the men's race, well under the U SPORTS standard with a time of 2:02.88. Timothy McCowan (DAL) and Thomas Chafe (MUN) finished in second and third respectively.

The last individual races of the night were the men's and women's 50m butterfly. Sophie Rooney won the women's race followed by Acadia's Sara Bennett and Dalhousie's Veronica Hollick. Chris Weeks won his second race of the night, touching the wall in a time of 23.50 seconds under the U SPORTS standard. Vaillancourt also touched in under the standard in second place and Dalhousie's Liam Ferguson touched in third.

The Dalhousie relay teams won both the women's and men's 4x200m freestyle relays. The team of Kate Tuck, Reagan Crowell, Abbey Nichols and Emillie Schofield hit the wall in a time of 8:28.12 followed by the Acadia team of Rooney, Natalie Stokes, Earle and Bennett in second. The UNB team of Martin, Sophie Casey, Emma Sinclair and Jessie Collett touched in third.

On the men's side the Tigers team of Logan Sparkes, Cole Mitchell, Noah Thomas and Noah Mascoll-Gomes captured gold with a time of 7:29.67. The Acadia team of Bo Stokesbury-Price, Nate Thompson, Shortt and David Harvie finished in second place followed by the Memorial team of Chafe, Liam Tweedie, Felix Sheppard and Daniel Pearce.

Day three of the meet dives in at 10am with preliminary races and the finals get underway at 6pm.
