Augustana guard Megan Hebert transfers to Acadia

WOLFVILLE, N.S. – Acadia University's women's basketball head coach Len Harvey is pleased to have Megan Hebert join the Axewomen lineup in the fall of 2021.

Hebert, a 5'5" guard from Wetaskiwin, Alta., brings a wealth of experience to the Axewomen after playing last season for the Augustana Vikings of the ACAC in Alberta. After the 2020 season, Hebert was named as the ACAC women's basketball Rookie of the Year.

"I chose Acadia for its small town feel and its strong academic and sports programs. I am extremely excited to make new relationships and challenge my basketball career," said Hebert.

Hebert is a decorated multi-sport athlete, who won many awards during her time at Wetaskiwin. A former team MVP, provincial championship MVP, and provincial champion as a high school athlete, Hebert is an experienced winner and leader.

"I like Meg's game a lot. Her up-tempo style, combined with her athleticism, is going to make her a seamless fit with our team," said Harvey. "We've had a lot of success recently with CCAA athletes, whether that was Lanae or Mia, and I think Meg strikes all the same notes. She's mature, strong, with a well-rounded skillset and understanding of what it takes to play at this level right away. I've been really impressed with her and am looking forward to getting her here with the team."
