Daughter to David and Shelley Gray, Laura attended 3 national camps growing up and played with the U15 national team that played against Germany. She was one of the youngest players on the Canada Games team, and was named an Academic All-Canadian in her time at RMC. Laura was RMC's rookie of the year in first year, and RMC's athlete of the year in 3rd and 4th year. She was named RMC's Women of Influence in 2011, RMC Soccer MVP, OUA second team all star in first, third and fourth year, and nominated for CF athlete of the year in 2009.

Laura has volunteered at St. George’s Soup Kitchen since high school and organized and ran Youth Confidence/Relationship Building Sessions at Burton Ettinger Elementary School. She travelled to and played soccer in Brazil, Barbados and Mississippi for the Military National Team.
