The Axemen basketball team picked up their first win of the young AUS season with a split weekend against the UPEI Panthers at home. Junior Moaku-Matia, a senior forward who is in his second year with the Axemen, averaged 20 points this past weekend against the Panthers. From Hamilton, ON, Moaku-Matia had a weekend high 22 points in Acadia’s win over the Panthers Saturday night. Junior was 10-11 from the floor and added seven rebounds. In Friday night’s loss, Moaku-Matia had 18 points and five rebounds. In the four regular season games thus far, Moaku-Matia has averaged 13.5 points and has a 58.5% field goal average.
