The Axewomen basketball team split their weekend at Cape Breton with a narrow loss on Saturday and a dominating win on Sunday. Senior guard Haley McDonald averaged 26.5 points in this past weekend’s games in Sydney, N.S. The Port Williams, N.S. native had game-high 32 points in the Axewomen’s 90-87 loss to the Capers on Saturday and posted a game-high 21 points in Acadia’s win on Sunday. McDonald leads the AUS in total points with 465 and is second in points per game with 24.5.
