Grant and Lemay-Evans named Acadia athletes of the week
Robbie Grant (men’s basketball) and Alexia Lemay-Evans (women’s volleyball) have been named Acadia athletes of the week for the period ending Nov. 30 following standout performances in AUS competition.
Grant, a third-year business administration student from Halifax, N.S., scored a career-high 31 points in Acadia’s 77–58 win over UNB in the Axemen’s lone game of the week. He shot 61.9 per cent from the field, added 14 rebounds, and chipped in two assists and a steal. The victory helped the Axemen maintain first place in the conference heading into the break.
Lemay-Evans, a fourth-year kinesiology student from Sudbury, Ont., posted 21.5 points in a reverse-sweep win over Dalhousie on Friday night. She led the Axewomen with 15 kills and 12 digs, while also recording four aces, two solo blocks and a block assist in the bounce-back victory.
The Acadia athletes of the week are presented by McDonald’s.
