To Our Valued Acadia Athletics Complex Members:

During these unprecedented and difficult times, I am reminded of how very fortunate I am to live in a community like ours. Throughout the past number of weeks, I have been amazed by the generosity of spirit and willingness of our community to go the extra mile for our family, friends, and neighbors. It makes me so proud to live in the Annapolis Valley.

We know, from hearing from so many of you over the past few weeks, how much our community values the services and programs offered by the Acadia Athletics Complex, and we understand the impact of its closure on our community's health and wellness. Its closure has also reminded us how fortunate we are to have the complex nestled in the heart of our community.

With yesterday's announcement from the Nova Scotia Government that certain businesses may reopen starting June 5th, we wanted to provide an update. Although fitness facilities will be allowed to resume operations (provided they meet their sector specific plan), the Acadia Athletics Complex will not be reopening on June 5th.

As a University operation, our first priority is the safe return of our students to campus. Our staff are working diligently on reopening plans and processes that protect people in our complex, and our aim is to ensure our return to operations is as smooth and safe as possible for our students and community members. Public health and safety are integral to our reopening process.

For those users who have facility memberships that have been suspended as of March 16th, when our Box Office reopens, we will be offering an extension to your facility membership for the time missed during the closure.

When facility operations and programs return to normal, we will also rely on our members to follow all communicated health and hygiene procedures to ensure we are able to keep the Acadia Athletics Complex safe for all users.

We know you will have questions, and we will provide campus updates when they are available to us.

Thank you all for your continued support and understanding during this time. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Acadia Athletics Complex when we can safely return.
