Duffie steps down as Acadia men’s basketball head coach, Leslie named as interim

WOLFVILLE, N.S. – Acadia Athletics announced today that Kevin Duffie is stepping down from his position as head coach of the men's basketball team.

A native of Grand Falls, N.B. , Duffie was entering his eighth season as the head coach of the Axemen. Prior to his appointment as head coach, Kevin has spent six seasons as an assistant coach at Acadia under former head coach Stephen Baur.

Duffie leaves Acadia to pursue a career path in business. Acadia University would like to thank him for his valued contribution over the last 14 years as a head coach and assistant coach with the men's basketball program.

Former head coach of the NBL's Halifax Hurricanes, Mike Leslie, will take on the interim head coach position for the 2021-22 season. Leslie coached the Hurricanes from 2016 to 2019 before moving to their front office as President and General Manager. Leslie brings a wealth of experience to the interim position.

A full search will be conducted in the winter of 2022 for a full-time Head Coach.
