Kiyara Letlow of the Cape Breton University women's basketball team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport women's athlete of the week for the week ending November 27, 2022.

A second-year arts student from Toronto, Ontario, Letlow led the Capers to a 78-74 home victory over the UNB REDS last Friday at the Sullivan Fieldhouse in Sydney. The 2022 U SPORTS rookie of the year finished with game-highs in points (40), rebounds (17) and steals (four). In 38 minutes of floor time, Letlow shot 15-for-22 from the field and 10-for-14 from the free-throw line. Her 40-point game earned her a top-10 spot in the AUS record book for most points scored in a single game.

Heading into the holiday break, she leads the AUS in points, with 22.1, and leads the country in rebounds per game with 15.1.

Gordon Shortt of the Acadia Axemen swim team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport male athlete of the week for the week ending November 27, 2022.

A third-year business student from Simcoe, Ontario, Shortt was a standout for the Axemen at last weekend's Kemp-Fry Invitation meet, hosted by Dalhousie. He posted an AUS record in the 50-metre breaststroke with his U SPORTS-qualifying time of 28.46.

Shortt also earned individual wins in the 100-metre and 200-metre breaststroke and was a member of the Axemen's 400-metre freestyle and 400-metre medley relay wins. The Axemen finished second overall in team standings.
