    QUEBEC, QC - U SPORTS announced its Football Major Award winners and All-Canadians at the Vanier Cup Gala in Quebec City. Acadia's Thomas Grant, who was the AUS nominee for Outstanding Lineman of the Year, was named to the second team All-Canadian squad.

    WOLFVILLE, NS – Keiran Burnham’s 41 yard field goal with 2 seconds remaining in regulation time was all the StFX X-Men needed to pull off a 33-30 win over the host Acadia Axemen in the Thanksgiving Day Subway Turkey Bowl. Burnham, who was named the Subway Player of the Game, was three for three on field goal attempts including the game winner.

    WOLFVILLE, N.S. – In their home opener against the Mount Allison Mounties, the Acadia Axemen posted a 38-26 win over the visiting Mounties. In a game that was contested battle until the final two minutes of play, where third-year defensive back Rory Kelly scored a touchdown from an interception, guaranteeing the Axemen’s home-opening win.

    WOLFVILLE, N.S. - The thought of playing in the CFL started in Junior High School for Truro, N.S. native Gabriel Bagnell. A quarterback during his formative years of football, Bagnell was recently chosen in the seventh round (57th overall) of the CFL draft as a defensive lineman.

Laval will host the 2018 U SPORTS Valero East-West Bowl for the second consecutive year, which features U SPORTS football players heading into their CFL draft year. Included on the roster of the East team are Axemen linemen Nathan Heide and Tommy Grant.
