Halifax's Munro to join Basketball Axemen squad in the fall of 2019

WOLFVILLE, N.S. – Acadia University's Department of Athletics and men's basketball head coach Kevin Duffie announced the commitment by Timberlea, N.S. native Ryan Munro today.

A 6'2", 170 lbs. guard from Grammar School in Halifax, Munro was named as a Halifax Metro League All-Star last season.

Munro has been a member of the Under 15 and Under 17 Basketball Nova Scotia provincial program and is a two-time National Champion as an Under 15 and Under 17 Team Nova Scotia team member.

Named as a second team All-Star at the 2018 National Championship, Munro is seen as a dynamic player who will be an exceptional addition to the Axemen.

" Ryan is what we are looking for when we talk about student-athlete. He has a wealth of experience playing at a high level throughout his career already. He has proven the ability to shoot the ball at a high level, as well as to be a playmaker and change the game on the defensive end. He is a really fun player to watch and he is going to have an instant impact with our program," said head coach Kevin Duffie.

Munro will be studying Business Administration beginning in the fall of 2019.

"When I first came on my visit to Acadia, it felt like home for me right away. All the guys on the team made me feel as if I was already part of the team and I could tell the coaches believed in me from the start," noted Munro.
