Basketball Axemen announcement commitment of 6'10" Peter Moses

WOLFVILLE, N.S. – Acadia Athletics and Axemen basketball head coach Kevin Duffie are pleased to announce the commitment of Windsor, Ont. Native Peter Moses.

A 6'10" power forward, Moses will join Ridley College alumnus Marcus Upshaw and the Axemen this coming fall.

Moses played high school basketball with the Ridley College Prep Tigers of the OSBA and with the Tigers, was in the OSBA 2019Final 4.

Moses is Acadia's second committed player from Ridley in the last three seasons. The philosophies of the two institutions aligned very well. Ridley College is a private preparatory school located in St. Catherines, Ont.

Moses moved from Windsor to attend Ridley College for the final two years of his high school career.

He also participated in UPLAY Canada, which is a united public leadership academy for youth focusing on development through elite basketball athletes.

"We are excited about the addition of Peter to the program. We see Peter fitting into our environment seamlessly since he is coming from the well-reputed Ridley College where he is a proven student and accomplished athlete", noted Duffie. "Peter is a mature young man who will come in and impact our program on a lot of different levels. From a basketball perspective, he has good size, skill and length and that combined with his work habits will be crucial in his success at university."

As a high-level student who will be acquiring a Bachelor of Business Administration at Acadia, the 18-year-old noted his choice of Acadia was in part due to the focused attention Acadia University could offer.

"When deciding where I would be going this year, I looked at where I could grow not only as a student and athlete but as a person. Acadia has all the right tools to help me succeed and I am excited to see what the future holds at Acadia," said Moses.

The Axemen will kick off the 2019-20 season in hosting the annual Stu Aberdeen Memorial Basketball tournament on October 2-4, 2020.
