Axewomen finish season 18-2 with over Capers
SYDNEY, NS - The top two ranked teams in the AUS met up to end the regular season, and both teams put on a show that concluded with the Acadia Axewomen overcoming a late Cape Breton University CAPERS surge to win 97-93. Alison Keough (Marion Bridge, NS), Valentina Primossi (Trieste, ITA), and Sandra Amoah (Toronto, ON) all played their last home games as members of the CAPERS.

Turning point - Just before the midpoint of the fourth quarter, a pair of free throws from Primossi gave the CAPERS their first lead of the second half, which was a part of a 20-2 run for the home team. But the Axewomen rebounded, going on a 10-0 run of themselves, which was led by Paloma Anderson (Phoenix, AZ).

Anderson later drove past the CAPERS defence to hit a layup with a minute left to seal the win for Acadia.
