Axewomen defeat Sea-Hawks in straight sets

ST. JOHN'S, NL - The visiting Acadia Axewomen started strong and didn't look back, besting the Memorial Sea-Hawks by a score of 3-0 (25-13, 25-8, 25-16).

The Axewomen did a great job of preventing the Sea-Hawks attack, limiting them on the offensive end. Sydney Zakutney led Acadia from the attack line, adding 10 kills, 7 digs, and 3 blocks, putting forth a stellar performance for the visiting side. Setter Charlotte Dean was great at putting her teammates in favourable positions to attack, accumulating 26 assists on the night.

The Sea-Hawks were led by outside hitter Nella Woelfel and her team-high 4 kills, the 2nd year was one of the standouts on the attack for the home team. Setters Karen Greek (6 assists) and Erica Rafuse (7 assists) shared the load for the home team, while Erin Grabka (5 digs) and Shianna Duda (4 digs) carried the way on the back row for the Sea-Hawks.
