Connecting the past with the present

The purpose of the Acadia Sports Hall of Fame is to recognize those individuals who have made a significant contribution to the athletic program at Acadia University and who, as a result of their contribution, have enhanced the image and reputation of the University. The Acadia Sports Hall of Fame is administered by the Alumni Office of Acadia University and the Department of Athletics.

Must have made a significant contribution to Acadia athletics other than as a student-athlete or on a team.

A member of the University community who has made a significant contribution to Acadia athletics for a minimum of five years; normally, consideration will not be given to an individual until ten years after their initial appointment.

Team:

Must have represented Acadia as a team; and must have competed with distinction at the highest level of intercollegiate athletic competition available at the time.

Selection is based on the team’s contribution to Acadia’s varsity program; other considerations may include the team’s achievements in provincial, national and international competitions; normally, consideration will be given following a minimum ten year absence from the varsity program.

Athlete:

Must be an Acadia University alumnus; and represented Acadia with distinction at the highest level of intercollegiate athletic competition available at the time.

Selection is based on the athlete’s contribution to Acadia’s varsity program; other considerations may include the athlete’s achievements in provincial, national and international athletic competitions; character, leadership, integrity, non-athletic service to the University community; and achievement in later life; normally, consideration will be given following a minimum ten year absence from the varsity program.
