Axemen welcome Regault to 2024 recruitment class

WOLFVILLE – The Acadia men’s basketball program has added another Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association (OSBA) talent with the commitment of Ryan Regault.

A 6’0 point guard, he played with Hodan Prep during the 2023-24 season, averaging 9.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.4 steals per game.

“Ryan is an explosive scorer who will bring lots of offense to Acadia men’s basketball,” said head coach Mike Leslie. “He is an exceptional person and a very focussed student-athlete who will contribute in many ways to our Acadia family.”

Personally, the Scarborough native was named to the All-Canadian high school senior watchlist in 2024 and was the St. Michael’s College athlete of the year in 2023.

With his teams he was the Hodan Classic Champions this season, while he won an OFSSA bronze medal in 2022-23.

“Acadia felt like home. The sense of community and togetherness I felt during my visit was special and something I wanted to be a part of,” said Regault. “With coaches Mike and Igor believing in me and my ability to produce at the next level, I am excited for what’s ahead with the Axemen.”
