Acadia Axemen running back Dale Wright is the Atlantic University Sport football offensive player of the week for the week ending Oct. 20, 2019. 

A business student in his third year of eligibility from Markham, Ont., Wright finished with 108 rushing yards on 22 carries and two touchdowns in Acadia's 28-18 win over the Saint Mary's Huskies Saturday in Wolfville, N.S.

He was named Subway Player of the Game for his efforts. With the win, the Axemen remain undefeated (7-0) with one game remaining in the regular season. They have secured first place in the AUS standings and hosting rights to the Subway AUS Loney Bowl.

University: Mount Allison University

Position: Defensive back

Hometown: Saint John, N.B.

Academic program: BCM

Height and weight: 6'2", 200 lbs

Mount Allison Mounties defensive back Daniel Bell has been named the AUS football defensive player of the week.

A first-year commerce student from Saint John, N.B., Bell had seven tackles (six solo and two assisted) for the Mounties' defence in their 35-13 win over the Bishop's Gaiters Saturday in Sackville, N.B. Among these were three tackles for loss, including two sacks for a loss of 16 total yards.

Bell also had an interception and a fumble recovery for Mount Allison.

Mount Allison Mounties kicker James Parker is the AUS football special teams player of the week for the week ending Oct. 20, 2019.

A second-year psychology student from Abbotsford, B.C., Parker chipped in with nine points for Mount Allison in their 35-13 win over the Bishop's Gaiters Saturday. He made good on both of his field goal attempts and all three point-after attempts.

Parker also had eight punts for 242 yards, including one downed inside the 20, along with eight kickoffs for 484 yards.
