Axemen welcome Waite to o-line for 2025 season
The Acadia Axemen are set to strengthen their offensive line with the addition of Ethan Waite, an experienced lineman from Red Deer, Alta.
Waite, a 6'4, 275-pound left tackle, brings four years of Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) experience with the Valley Huskers, where he was a key piece of the team’s playoff runs. In 2024, he was named a BCFC All-Star, earned the Huskers' Offensive Lineman of the Year award, and served as a team captain.
Before his time in junior football, Waite played for Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive High School in Red Deer, where he was a team captain and won the Raiders' Offensive Lineman of the Year award in 2019. His leadership on the field dates back to his early playing days, having also captained his bantam team.
“I've wanted to be a university football player since I started playing at 11 years old,” Waite said. “I am excited to be part of the Axemen family and compete at the next level.”
Waite will study history at Acadia.
