Maicas joins Axemen via Rimouski Pioneers
Vincent Maicas, a 5’11, 180-pound cornerback from Moncton, N.B., has committed to the Acadia Axemen football program for the 2025 season.
Maicas brings a wealth of experience, having played for École L’Odyssée’s Olympiens in the NBIAA, where his team reached the championship game in back-to-back seasons in 2021 and 2022. During the 2022 season, he recorded three interceptions and one touchdown.
He continued his development at CEGEP Rimouski, competing in the RSEQ league, where he demonstrated versatility as both a cornerback and receiver. In the 2024 season with the Pioneers, he amassed six tackles, two interceptions, and one touchdown defensively, while adding two touchdowns and 70 receiving yards on offense. Maicas also played for the Moncton Mustangs in the Maritime Football League (MFL), contributing three tackles and an interception during the two games in the 2024 season.
“It feels amazing to accomplish a goal I set for myself three years ago, to play university athletics,” Maicas said. “No one expected me to reach my goal. It’s time to come home and show everyone what the game means to me.”
