Bio

Brandon Dubs joined the Acadia Axemen football program in 2024 as special teams coordinator and moved into the role of defensive coordinator for the 2025 season. With over a decade of U SPORTS coaching experience, Dubs has established himself as a leader in defensive strategy and player development.

A former free safety at Mount Allison University (2010–2012), Dubs transitioned into coaching in 2013, serving as the special teams coordinator and defensive backs coach for the Mounties. During his tenure (2013–2016), Mount Allison won back-to-back AUS championships (2013, 2014) and appeared in four consecutive title games. Under his guidance, the program produced 11 AUS All-Stars, three All-Canadians, and a CFL Draft pick.

Dubs continued his coaching career at Saint Mary’s University from 2017 to 2021, where he initially oversaw special teams and defensive backs before taking on co-defensive coordinator responsibilities. During his time with the Huskies, he helped lead the team to two AUS championship appearances (2017, 2018) while mentoring 11 AUS All-Stars, three All-Canadians, an AUS Rookie of the Year, and four CFL Draft selections.

In 2024, Dubs joined Acadia as special teams coordinator, playing a key role in the development of the team’s AUS Rookie of the Year. Now leading the Axemen’s defence, he brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to building a tough, disciplined, and high-performing defensive unit.
