WOLFVILLE — STFX defeated Acadia 3-1 in AUS men's soccer action on Sunday afternoon at Raymond Field in front of 415 fans.
Samuel Barrowcliffe (Princeton, ON) opened the scoring for the X-Men in the first half, with an assist from Kyle Cordeiro (Oakville, ON). Luke Green (Fall River, NS) extended the lead in the second half, scoring on a pass from Noah MacIntyre (Georgetown, ON). Isaac VanWychen (Middle Musquodoboit, NS) added a third goal for STFX, assisted by Myroslav Zastavnyy (Toronto, ON).
Acadia's lone goal came late in the match as an own goal by X.
STFX dominated with 28 shots to Acadia's nine. X-Men goalkeeper Samuel Diltz (Newmarket, ON) made five saves, while Acadia's Connor Burns (Halifax, NS) stopped 14 shots.
