Axewomen and Axemen sit second in team standings after 3 sessions at Kemp-Fry

WOLFVILLE, N.S. - After two days of competition, the Dalhousie Tigers men's and women's swim teams continue to lead the 2022 Kemp-Fry Invitational Swim Meet.

UNB's Jennifer Moore got the first win of the night, taking top honours in the women's 50m freestyle A final. Acadia's Emma Hamlyn was second, followed by Memorial's Kate Williams in third.

Dean Sangster got Acadia's first win of the night, swimming to first place in the men's 50m freestyle final with a U SPORTS-qualifying time of 23.07. He was followed by Mount Allison's Sebastien Cariaga and fellow Axemen Kenny Shane in second and third, respectively.

Dalhousie got their first win of the night with Allison McCloy swimming to first place in the women's 400m IM. Tigers teammate Kate Tuck was second, followed by Acadia's Sophie Rooney. All three posted U SPORTS-qualifying times as did Dalhousie's Emilie Schofield who finished in fourth.

Matty Whelan was first to the wall in the men's 400m IM. The Memorial Sea-Hawk posted a national championship-qualifying time of 4:25.39 to win the final. Dalhousie's Alexander D'Alessio and Timothy McCowan were second and third, respectively.

Tigers swimmer Veronica Hollick won the women's 100m butterfly with a U SPORTS-qualifying time of 1:02.48. Acadia's Kassidy Hamilton was second, followed by Memorial's Heidi Perry in third.

Acadia's Kenny Shane took top spot in the men's 100m butterfly. He was followed by Dalhousie's Frederick Chandler-Baas and Isaac Bahler in second and third, respectively.

Dalhousie's Emilie Schofield out-touched Acadia's Natalie Stokes to win the women's 200m backstroke. Fellow Axewoman Grace Earle finished in third.

Dean Sangster got his second win of the night, this time in the men's 200m backstroke. The Axemen swimmer was first to the wall with a U SPORTS-qualifying time of 2:00.85. Dalhousie's Liam Ferguson and Cole Mitchell followed in second and third, respectively.

Acadia's Elizabeth Morrison and Ella Collins were first and second in the women's 100m breaststroke. They were followed by Dalhousie's Kate Tuck.

Gordon Shortt clinched Acadia's fourth win of the night for the men, touching the wall ahead of UNB's Ethan Nestoruk and Memorial's Matty Whelan in the 100m breaststroke.

Dalhousie's Reagan Crowell led the Tigers to the top four spots to win the women's 200m freestyle. Allison McCloy, Sophie Idle and Abbey Nichols placed second through fourth. Crowell won the event with a national championship-qualifying time of 2:01.38.

Memorial's Thomas Chafe took top spot in the men's 200m freestyle. Dalhousie's Logan Sparkes followed in second, with Acadia's Bo Stokesbury-Price finishing in third.

Axewoman Sophie Rooney posted a U SPORTS-qualifying time of 29.07 to win the women's 50m backstroke final. She was followed by Memorial's Ali Warren and fellow Acadia swimmer Kassidy Hamilton in second and third, respectively.

Dal's Liam Ferguson took home top honours in the men's 50m backstroke. Acadia's Dean Sangster was second, followed by Mount Allison's Sebastien Cariaga in third.

The Dalhousie women's 4x100m freestyle relay team of Reagan Crowell, Allison McCloy, Alexa Petrie and Emilie Schofield were first to the wall to win the final women's event of the evening. Acadia's team of Sophie Rooney, Grace Earle, Elizabeth Morrison and Kassidy Hamilton were second, followed by UNB's Élodie Martin, Jessie Collet, Lauren Goodine and Jennifer Moore.

Acadia's Bo Stokesbury-Price, Dean Sangster, Agaron Ramos and Gordon Shortt won the men's 4x100m freestyle relay. The Dalhousie team of Noah Brake, Liam Ferguson, Ethan Boyle and Logan Sparkes was second, followed by the Memorial team of Thomas Chafe, Logan Palmer, Dylan Morawski and Matty Whelan were third.
