Rooney with top Acadia finish of Day 2 at U SPORTS Swimming Championships
The Acadia Axewomen and Axemen continued to battle against the nation’s top swimmers on Day 2 of the 2025 U SPORTS Championships in Toronto. Acadia athletes put together strong performances, advancing to finals and competing for top finishes.
Day 3, the final day of the championships, gets underway with prelims on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. EST, as Acadia looks to close out the meet with more standout performances.

Acadia swimmers showed strong performances in sprint events and backstroke races, with Sophie Rooney and Chloe Popp leading the Axewomen’s efforts in multiple finals. The men’s relay team fought hard in the 800m freestyle relay, securing a top-15 finish with strong swims from Harvie, Thompson, Mazier, and Vaillancourt.
