The Acadia Axewomen have moved into the U SPORTS women’s basketball top 10 rankings following a weekend sweep of the Cape Breton Capers.
Acadia is ranked No. 10 in the nation with a 4-2 record.
The last time the Axewomen were in the Top 10 was February 21 when they were situated No. 5 in the country heading into the U SPORTS championship weekend.
This season Acadia started with a pair of losses to Saint Mary’s to open conference play before winning four in a row as they head into another weekend at home against the Memorial Sea-Hawks.
Their most recent victory was highlighted by a steal and made layup by Bianca Helmig to pick up a narrow 61-60 win over the Capers.

Axewomen complete the comeback to sweep the Capers in Wolfville.
Samantha Russell led the Axewomen with 19 points.
