Rugby Axewomen improve to 2-0 after win over Huskies

HALIFAX, N.S.-- The Acadia Axewomen defeated the SMU Huskies 75-10 in Atlantic University Sport women's rugby action Saturday afternoon. 

The Axewomen opened up the scoring early in the first half with a try and converted kick for a fast 7-0 lead.Saint Mary's answered back with their own try and trailed Acadia 7-5 after the failed conversion kick. 

Acadia scored the next 24 unanswered points and took a 31-5 lead into halftime.

The Axewomen started the second half, like they ended the first half, scoring two quick trys and converted one of their kicks for a 43-5 lead.

Saint Mary's scored a late try in the second half and Acadia won 75-10.

Acadia improves to 2-0 and travels to StFX who are also undefeated next Sunday Sept. 27th at 2pm.

The Huskies falls to 0-2 and hosts UPEI 0-2 Saturday Sept. 26th at 7pm.
