Amy Gunn, a standout scrum half from Scotsburn, N.S., has committed to the Axewomen rugby program.
Gunn, who graduates this year from Northumberland High School in Alma, N.S., served as Back Captain for the NRHS girls rugby team during the 2024 season. Her leadership helped the team secure regional banners in both 2023 and 2024.
She also excelled provincially with the U16W and U17W Nova Scotia Keltics, playing as the starting scrum half. Gunn earned a bronze medal in 2023 and a gold medal in 2024 at the Atlantic Championships.
“Watching Acadia play, they have an amazing work ethic as a team, never getting down and always staying connected,” Gunn said. “On and off the field, it seems such an experience, like a second family, and I can’t wait to be part of it!”
The 5'3 scrum half plans to study environmental sciences at Acadia University. She will also be playing alongside her sister Sarah who will be entering her third year with the program.
