Phillips commits to Acadia Axewomen rugby
The Acadia Axewomen are adding strength and leadership to their forward pack with the commitment of prop Sierra Phillips from Brooklyn, N.S.
Phillips, a 5’9 front-row player, has been a key part of successful teams at both the high school and provincial levels. She captained Kings Edgehill School (KES) and helped lead the program to a provincial championship in 2023. Her provincial-level experience includes representing the Nova Scotia Keltics, winning the U17 Atlantic Championship in 2024 and securing third place with the U16 squad in 2023. She has also competed with Valley Rugby Union at the club level.
For Phillips, committing to Acadia is an opportunity to push herself both on and off the field.
“‘Commitment is what transforms a promise into a reality,’” she said. “I promise to work hard both academically and athletically.”
She will study kinesiology while competing with the Axewomen.
