Feeney joins Axewomen rugby team for 2025-26 season

WOLFVILLE — Acadia University’s Axewomen rugby team has announced that Halifax native Stella Feeney will join the roster for the 2025-26 season.

Feeney, who played rugby for Citadel High School, was a key player in her team’s back-to-back regional championships over the last two years. She was named Citadel’s Rookie of the Year and also played for the Nova Scotia Keltics, winning gold with the team at this year’s Atlantic championship.

“Acadia rugby celebrates the same values of work ethic, team culture and community that I value myself,” Feeney said. “Coming onto a team with such amazing players and coaching is so exciting, and I can’t wait to become a part of it.”

The Axewomen are looking forward to Feeney’s arrival as she brings her strong track record of teamwork and success to the program.
