Three-goal second half lifts Axewomen to victory
WOLFVILLE – A pair of goals by Kaitlyn Clarke had the Dalhousie Tigers (2-4-1) ahead of the Acadia Axewomen (5-2-1) at halftime on Friday night, but three goals in under 10 minutes propelled Acadia to victory.

WOLFVILLE – A pair of goals by Kaitlyn Clarke had the Dalhousie Tigers (2-4-1) ahead of the Acadia Axewomen (5-2-1) at halftime on Friday night, but three goals in under 10 minutes propelled Acadia to victory.
Sydney Kennedy scored the opening game of the match, which was answered by Clarke's two goals to end the first-half scoring.
Acadia started quick in the second half, with Abby Girard scoring in the 49th minute of play, followed just two minutes later by Abbey Aucoin.
Kennedy capped off the game with her second of the match, to tie Aucoin and Grace Longley for the team lead in scoring with six goals apiece.
Milena Ramirez finished the night with seven saves for her fifth win of the season, while Emily Toth made seven in the loss for Dalhousie.
The Tigers now host UNB tomorrow at 5 p.m., while Acadia is off until Friday, Oct. 13 when they host Saint Mary's for their final conference home game of 2023.
