Sea-Hawks battle back to win five-setter over Axewomen
WOLFVILLE - The Memorial Sea-Hawks emerged victorious in an intense volleyball matchup against Acadia on Saturday, with a 3-2 win after five sets.
Top scorers for Memorial included Lydia Grawer with 17 points, Olivia DeDecker with 15, and Courtney Hodder with 13. Acadia's leading scorers were Alexia Lemay-Evans with 26 points, Jenna Lake with 13, and Charley McDonald with 9.5.
Grawer led Memorial with 13 kills and a .194 hitting percentage. DeDecker contributed 15 points with 10 kills, while Hodder added 13 digs and 11 kills, showing her versatility on both ends. Karen Greek also played a key role for Memorial with 39 assists.
On the Acadia side, Lemay-Evans stood out with 26 points and led her team in kills with 19. Lake recorded 13 kills and 19 digs.
The closely contested match highlighted the determination and skill of both teams, with Memorial's teamwork ultimately securing their victory.
Acadia will travel to Fredericton for a pair of matches against UNB next weekend, while Memorial will host Dalhousie for two games.
