Following the Axemen swim team’s first AUS championship since 1981, fourth-year Axeman Brett Liem was named the AUS Championship Male swimmer of the meet. From Bedford, N.S., Liem is a two-time AUS Most Valuable Swimmer and this past weekend, in his final AUS swim meet, pulled together two wins and two second-place finishes and also anchored three men’s relay wins. Liem grabbed gold in the 50m and 100m freestyle races and silver in the 100m breaststroke and 50m butterfly races. Brett finished his last swim in the pool this weekend as part of the 4X100 medley relay team that not only captured gold but also set a new AUS record.
