Football’s Niklas Platis has been named the Acadia athlete of the week for the period ending August 25.
Football’s Niklas Platis has been named the Acadia athlete of the week for the period ending August 25.
Platis, a fourth-year kinesiology student, led the Axemen in their opening game of the AUS regular season – a 15-14 loss on the road to Mount Allison. He ran for 74 yards, averaging 7.4 yards per carry. After week one this put him third in the AUS for rushing yards.
His long run of the day was 33 yards, which was second in the conference over the weekend, topped only by teammate Max Ramirez’s 42-yard run.
