Beckley brings offensive spark to Axemen football
Asher Beckley, a 6'0, 200-pound running back from Sackville, N.B., has committed to the Acadia Axemen football program for the upcoming season.
Beckley was a standout for Tantramar Regional High School, where he played for the Titans in the NBIAA. As a Grade 11 player, he rushed for 1,412 yards and nine touchdowns on 140 carries, earning NBIAA Offensive MVP honours and being named a league all-star. In his senior year, he was named NBIAA League MVP, an NBIAA Offensive All-Star, and a team captain, leading his team to a provincial championship with 2,365 rushing yards and 26 touchdowns on 221 carries.
His accomplishments extend beyond high school football. In 2023, he was invited to play in the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl at IMG Academy in Florida. In 2024, he was selected to compete in the Dream All-American Bowl at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys.
“Playing football for Acadia means more than just competing on the field; it is a chance to grow as a person, push my limits and be part of something bigger than myself,” Beckley said. “It will allow me to share my passion for the game and shape my future both on and off the field. Being part of Acadia will give me a sense of belonging and pride, as I will have the opportunity to connect with teammates who share my dedication and drive. The experiences and lessons I'll gain through the challenges and the victories would make me who I am and who I strive to be, both as an athlete and as an individual. It’s about representing a university and a team that believes in my potential and supporting me as I chase my dreams.”
Beckley will pursue a degree in business at Acadia University while continuing his football career.
