Axemen add local talent Omari Gray for 2025 season

The Acadia Axemen are set to add a disruptive force to their defensive line with the commitment of Omari Gray from Kentville, N.S.

The 6'0, 235-pound defensive lineman was a standout at Horton High School, where he led by example as team captain. His impact on the field earned him the title of 2024 Division 2 Defensive Lineman of the Year, solidifying his reputation as one of the top defenders in the province.

Gray’s leadership extended beyond high school, as he also captained Football Nova Scotia’s U18 team while serving as a two-year starter. His ability to create havoc was evident, with standout performances that included a four-sack, five-tackle-for-loss game.

“It feels great to join a team with such a great bond between all of the coaches and players,” Gray said of his decision to commit to Acadia.

He will study business while suiting up for the Axemen.
